This item uses specially selected, top grade Japan-grown zelkova tree. It is a stamp pad holder (a container for the vermillion ink used for seals) which has been made using the traditional method of sunken gold decoration (performed by first carving an image on the surface to be lacquered using a sharp chisel, and then applying gold dust and other substances to bring out that image), by Seki Mikio, a traditional　Yamanaka lacquerware craftsman. In this item you can sense the refinement of traditional Japanese handicrafts.
